The Hive

Welcome to The Hive
We're a small class where children can learn in a slightly different way, they are still fully immersed in school life and spend time with their mainstream peers.
We also welcome visitors from across the school who might need a bit of extra help understanding their emotions and navigating the world.
We work on children’s Section E and F EHCP requirements. If you feel your child might need additional support, please contact the school office for our entry requirements.
Who is in our class?
Miss Scone The Hive Leader
Mr Kosciolek Teaching assistant
Mrs Nixon Teaching assistant Monday – Wednesday
Mrs Jones Teaching assistant Thursday – Friday
Homework
Within PE in The Hive we aim to ensure children are developing their proprioceptive and interoceptive abilities by running sensory circuits, helping children to identify ways in which movement can help aid regulation. We also take part in class games and outdoor learning where sensory, physical and social communication and interaction skills are focused on. Children are welcome to wear a PE kit if they wish too, we advise PE kits to be brought into school and left on their peg. We provide wellies and waterproof clothing for Outdoor Learning.
PE & Outdoor Learning
We encourage children within The Hive to read daily at home, we also set small, manageable independent tasks periodically to ensure children are aware that learning does not take place just inside the classroom.
